The digital tools and possibilities to track products throughout the whole supply chain offers a
transparent market with open price information and many possibilities. At the same time the load
of information increase and everything is distributed and shared very fast through the social
media. It is sometimes difficult to distinguish between true and untrue information and we are
getting more skeptical about the information we receive which again leads to an increased
interest and need for data protection. Centralization of data may be a solution and the need for
security of personal information is reflected in the new EU GDRP. This has also created a special
interest in encryption and blockchain-decentralization of data. In the online marketplace we see
digitally encrypted currency like bitcoins with no need for central administration and therefore
becoming a popular form of payment.
